Inspection

When constructing or modifying a house / building or when considering building one, the following steps are required:

  1. Before hiring a certified electrician ('installateur'), the owner of the house / building must have a site plan.
  2. Hire a certified electrician who is approved by the department of Technical Inspection (D.T.I). Together with the certified electrician, the required capacity (kVa) of the house / building must be calculated.
  3. The certified electrician must submit the request on the CE Portal, including the required load capacity for the premises.
  4. This information will be submitted to the Planning / Inspection Department for processing. The department will advise the certified electrician on where the connection point should be installed. In case the requested load cannot be connected to the existing grid or a grid modification / expansion is required, the inspection request will be routed to the Planning Department.
  5. The certified electrician will be informed how the electrical niche (NIS) should be constructed. Details of the type of electrical niche will be provided by N.V. ELMAR.
  6. Before the electrical installation of the house / building can be inspected and approved, it must have an official premises address, issued by the Registry Office (Censo).
