Building a House

Apply for a Construction Meter 

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Free of debt with N.V. ELMAR
• The customer's request can be submitted with email customerservice@elmar.aw or at ELMAR branches                    

1. Valid Identification:

• Valid ID Card
• Or Passport or Driver's License, including registration extract issued by the Censo in Aruba (Papel di 5 Florin), not older than six (6) months.

2. Proof of Domestic Parcel

• Copy of Notarial Deed stating title or Preliminary Notarial Letter.
• Copy Cadastral extract (Dienst Landmeetkunde & Vastgoedregistratie DLV), not older than six (6) months.

3. Valid Construction Meter Inspection Card (keuringskaart).

• Either Temporary Construction Meter
  • 110v
    • Deposit: AWG. 100,-
    • Fee: AWG. 175,-
  • 220v
    • Deposit: AWG. 100,-
    • Fee: AWG. 225,-
• Or Construction Meter on Permanent Placement - Deposit
  • AWG. 100,-

For Companies building a parcel: Chamber of Commerce extract, not older than three (3) months

Converting a Construction Meter to a Permanent Connection

1. The Certified Electrician will request an inspection from ELMAR via the CE Portal
2. After approval, ELMAR will install the permanent connection automatically within 5 business days

Buying a House

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Renting a Home

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Free of debt with N.V. ELMAR.
• The customer request can be submitted with email customerservice@elmar.aw or at ELMAR branches

• Valid ID Card
• Or Passport or Driver's License, including registration extract issued by the Censo in Aruba (Papel di 5 Florin), not older than six (6) months.

• The owner will need to co-sign the application form

Optional: Copy of Previous Bill or Customer Number

Additional Steps When the Customer is not the Owner of the Property

• The owner must provide an authorization letter for the occupant.
• The owner must present valid proof of identification as well as the identification of authorized party to open an account with N.V. ELMAR. 

Additional Steps in the Event of a Customer's Passing and the Transfer of Account Ownership

• The applicant must supply the certified death certificate (overlijdensakte) as well as the marriage record.
• Valid proof of the official heir of the property.
• Written authorization from all legal heirs.
