N.V. Elmar is an organization which continuously ensure reliable power supply to all sectors of our society with the lowest costs possible while maintaining a sustainable environment.
N.V. Elmar is a leading organization in the distribution of electricity of fair reliable electricity. We do this by providing excellent service and thereby creating sustainable value for our customers, employees, community and other stakeholders.
At the moment we serve approximately 44.000 customers with reliable power through our distribution grid. This distribution grid covers the whole island of Aruba. N.V. Elmar also services all the streetlights of the island (approx. 13.000).
The management of electricity consists of three main steps:
- First is the production and supply of electricity. This is done by our sister company W.E.B. Aruba N.V.
- Second is the transmission of electricity. In this step, the electrical energy is transported to our 7 substations around the island. This is transported on a high density energy through high voltage lines (60kV). Our 7 substations are located in San Nicolas, Balashi, Sabana Blanco, Paardenbaai, Tanki Leendert, Pos Abou and Palm Beach.
- Third is the distribution of electricity. From the substation, the voltage level is further lowered (12kV) and distributed around the island through 34 switch-stations and 898 transformer-houses providing electricity to all the sectors of the Aruba society.
